OZONE, The sOuth Zone BOard of CoNtinuing Education commemorates
the
International Working Women's Day on 7th March, a day earlier
than the official IWD. The OZONE is voluntary
provider of adult and continuing education and has been positively changing the
lives of people. Women from all walks of life attend OZONE activities to take part in
adult and continuing education. All
manner of ingenuity needs to be applied to make educational opportunities
available to women in all walks of life across both economic and human
dimensions. Women’s life
case studies are stimulating and exciting way to develop a critical
understanding of women’s position and experience in contemporary society,
culture and politics. OZONE opens up the feminist thought using
cross-cutting, powerful themes such as gender, class, race, sexuality and diversity.
A lot of learning in the information age is learning how to find things
out. Women are encouraged and assisted to get assisted supportive,
interactive environment, and are facilitated in communication, analytic
skills transferable skills that can be used in further women empowerment by
OZONE. To mark International Women’s Day (IWD) 2015, the OZONE is celebrating
the lives of women and their achievements.
On Saturday 7th of March
2015 OZONE is sharing
and celebrating how adult and continued education learning has transformed
women’s lives and also the lives of their communities. The International Working Women's
Day is marked with grand celebrations. The story of women's struggle for
equality belongs to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights. A
day dedicated to women, the International Women's Day is celebrated to inspire
women and honour their achievements. South Zone Board of Continuing Education
and several other NGOS and women's organizations participate in the Women's Day
celebration they organise various stage plays, events, seminars, programmes,
etc., and also present awards to women achievers. This day also sees men
honouring the women in their lives, be it their mother, sister, daughter, by
giving them a gift as a token of respect, love and care. The day is observed at
the United Nations with a specific theme each year. For the International
Women's Day 2014, the theme is "Inspiring Change". It aims to
influence and strengthen the international community's commitment to put an end
to violence against women. It intends to introduce a positive change to balance
the status of women and men in an unequal world. -Govin
