Physical education for Primary level in SEVAI Shanthi Matric.HS School

It is well known that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. If a man is not physically fit and healthy, his mind cannot be sharp and active. Human body needs to be maintained and looked after properly. Physical exercise is of immense help in maintaining good health and fitness. Physical exercise is widely recognized as the best way to keep the body healthy and active. Physical exercise is of different kind. Different people have different choices and preferences. Many people enjoy morning walk. They are easier to practice and highly effective in keeping one fit and healthy. Regularity in exercise is imperative for the preservation of good health. It is a good source of energy, stamina and strength. Physical exercise is a form of discipline. It means self- control and sincerity. Recess and physical education are sometimes confused. When schools recently eliminated recess, parents were told that students didn’t need recess because they were receiving physical education. Elementary students who play sports are more likely to become active teens who, in turn, are more likely to be active adults. Not only do healthy people enjoy a higher quality of life, but the economy benefits from costs savings and productivity gains associated with workplace wellness. School sports  have an important role in keeping children active at school.
Schools represent an advantageous opportunity to promote physical activity in children. The ability to carve out time for physical activity whether it recesses, physical education or sports is unique to schools alone. Effective efforts made now will help children avoid a lifetime of chronic disease and disability. Play, physical activity, physical education, recess, and sports are cherished parts of childhood. -Kris
