intervention through test scores, grades, attendance data or behavioral issues.
Once the students are identified, the school works closely with the student and
family to offer additional supports. The progress of the student is monitored
and adjustments made as needed until the student is totally successful. The
instructional technology and intervention technology are being integrated into
all classrooms. Principal Chitra said “Measure of Academic Progress, testing is
being used to monitor student academic growth. Students take the tests several
times per year to ensure that each student is growing as expected.
Results from these tests are shared with students and families. Students who
are not growing as expected are offered additional supports. “Staff members are
currently redesigning our teaching technique to align with the curriculum.
The standards are helpful in that they will require students to use
higher-order thinking skills in applying knowledge; the previous standards were
much more knowledge-based. The SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary School

them better prepared for any post-high school choices.”-Govin
