Keep finances under control. God Karthikeya (Muruga) is the Hindu God of war who is
also referred to as Karthikeya, Skanda, Kumara, Swaminatha and Subramaniya. He
is the commander-in-chief of the army of Devas and is the son of God Shiva and
Goddess Parvathi. Some popular folk tales form Tamil Nadu. Murugan is the younger brother of Ganesh, The reference of
Murugan in Tamil literature came at about 14th century AD and all the legends
came after that. Murugan is primarily worshipped in South India, Malaysia, Sri
Lanka and Mauritius. All these places have significant Tamil population and a
good influence of the language. Arupadaiveedu are six temples dedicated to Murugan
and all of which are
located in Tamil Nadu. The six abodes are
Tirupparamkunram, Thiruchendur, Thiruavinankudi, Swamimalai, Thiruthani,
Pazhamudircholai. The god is known by different names in all these temples and
these six abodes are mentioned in a Tamil Sangam Literature written by
Nakeerar. Architectural findings of pottery in several places in Tamil Nadu
and elsewhere had ideographic inscriptions of his name as far back as 3rd
century BC. Students of Shanthivasam of SSMHSS pray God Balamurugan regularly
for better education and prosperity.
