Dr.P.Selvaraj and Dr.M.A.Aleem are elected as Executive members of Trichirapalli District Welfare Fund Committee in its Annual General Body conducted on 16th December 2025, as Chaired by District Collector as Public members. Trichirapalli District Welfare Committee was formed in 1962 and registered in 1975, as a unique local initiative for Trichy district's welfare. Founded by Late Thiru. K.A.P. Viswanathan,as Treasurer ,it focuses on education, healthcare, and Environmental Activities, women empowerment, response to calamities. This committee functions as Government and Public Partnership.
Key highlights,Initial public contribution of Rs. 642; now manages around Rs. 4 Crore,
Supports needy students, differently-abled, elderly, and women.The Income sources: rental properties, events, and donations (12A, 80G, GST registered,Notable projects: AC theatre turned marriage hall, office complex, and Trichy Birds Park investment of worth of Rs.6.5 crores,the entry ticket share from Birds park for charitable purposes.
Current Treasurer:
Mr.K. Govindaraju (since 1999) serves as custodian of the property such as Kalaiarangam etc.
The District Collector serves as President, P.A(G) to District Collector as Secretary of the Committee.
