Mrs.Amala Jayakumar appreciated the Government initiative for prevention of women harassment and implementation of child rights.

On 23 February 2025, SEVAI's women activist Mrs. Amala Jayakumar lit the KuthuVilaku at the inauguration of the three‑day workshop on women's harassment prevention and child rights implementation, presided over by the District Social Welfare Officer. During the workshop, Mrs. Amala Jayakumar appreciated the Government's initiative of organising such a needy workshop and shared her views, emphasizing the need for sustained awareness campaigns, widely promoted helplines, and robust government–NGO networks as essential shields and lifelines for vulnerable groups. She urged participants to commit to concrete actions that transform communities into safe, supportive spaces. Organized by the Trichy District Social Welfare Department from 23‑25 February 2026, the event gathered frontline staff, NGOs, teachers, police, and community leaders, and was formally inaugurated by the District Social Welfare Officer, with Mrs. Amala Jayakumar and Mrs. Sarala representing SEVAI.
