SEVAI-OFI is empowering farmers in Manapari Block villages through household vermicompost units, promoting organic farming practices. On February 11th, a team led by Mr. Emanuel (OFI, Bangalore), Mr. K. Devendran (organic farming expert, SEVAI), and Mrs. Vanitha Palanisamy (Women's Coordinator) visited these units with local farmers and SHG members. They highlighted vermicompost's benefits, including cost-effectiveness, soil enrichment, and environmental sustainability. Produced through earthworm activity, vermicompost breaks down organic waste into a valuable resource. The team shared insights on preparation and application, encouraging farmers to adopt these eco-friendly practices. SEVAI-OFI's training programs support farmers in replicating these units, promoting sustainable agriculture and improving food production 🌿.
