TRICHY: On World Forest Day, SEVAI has released a statement highlighting the critical role forests play in sustaining life on Earth 🌳. K.Devendran, Environmental Conservation Coordinator of SEVAI, stressed the urgent need to protect and restore forests, citing their importance as biodiversity hotspots, climate regulators, and lifelines for millions. Forests provide habitat for 80% of terrestrial species, absorb carbon dioxide, and support livelihoods.

SEVAI, in collaboration with Green India, is undertaking massive agro-forestry programs in Trichy and Karur districts, emphasizing tree plantation as a key strategy to mitigate climate change. The organization's efforts are a timely intervention, underscoring the importance of World Forest Day. SEVAI urges collective action to promote sustainable forest management, restore degraded forests, and raise awareness about forests' vital role in ensuring a sustainable future.🌿☀️🌿Govin
