SEVAI marked World Water Day on March 22, 2026, at Srirangam, highlighting the critical need for sustainable water management amidst the escalating global water crisis 🌳. Mrs. C. Sudha, SEVAI's Additional Director, emphasized the disproportionate burden on women and girls, who often bear the responsibility of water collection, impacting their education, health, and economic prospects. Aligning with the UN's "Water and Gender" theme, SEVAI has rejuvenated 100 rural tanks with OFI's support, enhancing irrigation and drinking water supplies through natural recharge mechanisms, open well rejuvenation, and borewell deepening. These efforts converge with climate change adaptation and environmental conservation projects, including tree plantation and agroforestry drives. Ms. A. Gandhimathi received holy water from Mrs. C. Sudha, and Ms. Kokilavani proposed the vote of thanks, encapsulating SEVAI's commitment to water security and gender parity.
