SEVAI's Agro Forestry Initiative in Kalanjium centre, Amoor.



Trichy, Tamil Nadu - The Society for Education Village Action and Improvement (SEVAI) has made significant strides in promoting sustainable development through its agroforestry program in Kalanjium centre, Amoor. By integrating fruit trees like guava, coconut, and mango with carbon-reducing species like teak, bamboo, and Mahahony, SEVAI is reducing carbon footprint, conserving biodiversity, and improving rural livelihoods.
The initiative has led to improved soil health, increased fresh produce, and new income opportunities for local farmers. "SEVAI's agroforestry program is a model for sustainable development," said Mrs.Sarala, the field level functionary. "Their efforts are promoting ecological balance and empowering communities."
SEVAI plans to expand similar projects, aiming to create a greener future for the region. The organization's work has been replicated in other blocks further highlighting their impact.
