For SEVAI's villages, afforestation is not a one-time drive but a way of life and a frontline response to climate change. 

With erratic rains, drying wells, and rising heat now everyday realities, trees act as shield and solution — absorbing CO₂, cooling villages, holding soil, recharging groundwater, and protecting crops. SEVAI makes it community-owned: school children run tree clubs, women's self-help groups manage nurseries for income, and farmers adopt bund planting with native species like neem, pungam, jamun, and teak. Survival is ensured through fencing, mulching, summer drip watering, and youth volunteers who track each sapling.
