"SEVAI initiative Transforms Veppangudi Children at the Heart of Green Change"

In Veppangudi, SEVAI-AEM's Environment & Child Development initiative places *children at the center* of building a sustainable, child-friendly ecosystem. Children lead the way by establishing kitchen gardens, medicinal plant beds, and vibrant eco-clubs where they craft seed balls, learn sustainable practices, and paint wall murals with green messages. Their hands-on work extends to a dense *Miyawaki Forest plantation* of native species, rainwater harvesting structures, and composting pits — giving them first-hand understanding of ecological balance and water stewardship. Green play zones with shaded seating under native trees have turned their learning spaces into living classrooms. Women's self-help groups support the children by managing nurseries and waste segregation units, ensuring the initiative's sustainability. *Mrs. Ingrid CHARREL* and *Mr. Vincent* from AEM Mission 2026 visited the site and praised the children's leadership and enthusiasm in driving change. Villagers thanked SEVAI for nurturing environmental stewardship in the next generation while improving Veppangudi's green cover and biodiversity through the Miyawaki forest. 🌿 Govin
