This ambitious agroforestry drive empowers farmers to transform their land into thriving, income-generating ecosystems while safeguarding the environment.
Farmers with secured water access and fencing can now plant premium fruit and timber species—mango, guava, coconut, teak, mahogany, and more—on their own soil at highly subsidised rates. Beyond saplings, SEVAI delivers end-to-end expertise: scientific pit preparation, scientific planting techniques, efficient irrigation systems, and hands-on training in manure application and soil health management to ensure robust growth from day one.
This is more than a plantation scheme—it’s a 40-year investment. Agroforestry unlocks multiple dividends: steady long-term income from fruit and timber, enriched soil fertility, reduced erosion, replenished groundwater. Each tree planted is a step toward sustainable agriculture and a shield against climate change.
The mission is already bearing fruit. During 2025–2026, Zomato-SEVAI successfully established thousands of trees across hundreds of acres, partnering with farmers in key blocks of Trichy and Karur.
