Sirugamani Town Panchayat operates its solid waste management unit near *Bangala Pudur*, where wet waste is processed into compost and dry waste is segregated for recycling. As part of *World Environment Day* celebrations, students of *SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pettavaithalai*, visited the facility during their weekly function. Town Panchayat sanitation officials explained the process of source segregation, composting, and recycling, and stressed the importance of household waste segregation under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act.
