Women Farmers Meet under SEVAI- DESWOS project.

Women Farmers of K.N. Palayam target village Share Dryland Farming Experiences in SEVAI-DESWOS Cluster Meet.

Women farmers from the K.N. Palayam cluster villages recently came together for an experience-sharing meeting on dryland crop management under the SEVAI-DESWOS project. The gathering provided a platform for participants to discuss challenges and successes in cultivating crops under rainfed conditions, with a focus on drought-resistant varieties, soil moisture conservation, and low-cost organic practices. Many women shared how mulching, intercropping, and timely sowing had improved their yields despite erratic rainfall, while others demonstrated techniques for seed selection and natural pest management using locally available inputs. The meeting not only strengthened peer learning within the cluster but also encouraged collective problem-solving, building confidence among women to adopt and adapt climate-resilient farming methods for sustainable livelihoods in dryland areas.
