On _21st July_, _Smt. Shantha Sheela Nair_, Retired IAS Officer, hosted an informal get together in _Trichy_ to commemorate the post-_Sathabishekam_ of her former colleagues _Shri. Mariappan_, Retired Deputy Collector and her former _Personal Clerk_, and _Shri. Kalyana Sundaram_, Retired Additional Superintendent of Police. The day coincided with her birthday.
Though she now resides in Chennai, she traveled to Trichy — the city where she served with distinction as its first woman District Collector in the early 1980s.
Both Shri. Mariappan and Shri. Kalyana Sundaram were specially felicitated.
On learning of the noted event, family members and social activists including _SEVAI Govindarajan, Padmashree M. Subburaman, Smt. Kannaki_, one representative representative from _Inbaseva Sangam_, and other well-wishers joined in.
Smt. Shantha Sheela Nair fondly recalled her years as District Collector. _Smt. Rajeswari Subburaman_ and _Shri. Thangavel_ added to the warmth of the occasion with melodious songs.
