Five Decades of Community Service,Dr.K.Govindaraju, SEVAI.

Five Decades of Community Service.
A Journey of Hope and Transformation,-
Dr.K.Govindaraju, Founder/Director, SEVAI.Trichy.
A seminar was organised in Trichy on 24, December 2025. Dr.K.Govindaraju spoke among the fellow colleagues and friends.
He said, "
Friends, colleagues, and fellow changemakers,
Today, as I stand before you, I am filled with gratitude and humility, reflecting on five decades of working towards a more just and equitable society.
My journey began in the year 1975, when the winds of change were sweeping across our villages.I was driven by a simple yet profound belief: every individual deserves dignity, opportunity, and a voice.
Over these 50 years, I've seen transformation – in villages empowered by self-help groups, in children educated through night schools, and in communities reclaiming their natural resources. I have witnessed the power of collective action, where marginalized voices become movements.
But the journey hasn't been easy. We've faced resistance, scarcity, and doubt. Yet, with each challenge, we've found resilience in the people we serve.
Today, as we celebrate this milestone, I urge you: let's rekindle that spark of empathy. Let's amplify grassroots voices. Let's innovate for inclusion.
The work isn't done – but with compassion as our compass, we'll continue to weave a tapestry of hope.
Thank you to all who've walked this path with me. Here's to many more decades of service
As I look back on five decades of social work, I'm filled with gratitude From grassroots movements to policy changes, every step has reinforced one truth: change starts with people.
I've seen villages transform through Women Empowerment , Shelter improvement, promotion of Agriculture projects, livelihood activities and schools for children from interior Villages, responding to emergency works for natural disasters and communities reclaim their resources. But challenges persist – inequality, exclusion, and indifference.
Empathy is our greatest tool. Listen to the marginalized, amplify their voice, and innovate for inclusion.
To all social workers: keep pushing boundaries. The journey's tough, but impact is profound.
Thank you for being part of this movement.I thank one and all fellow functionaries and village partners and benefactors for carrying out my mission with long term vision."๐Ÿ™
