Mother is the primary foundation and first influence, providing the child with security and love.  When this basic need for security and love is not fulfilled, the child reacts, developing unfounded fears and lashing out with undifferentiated anger. Mother is the first teacher in everybody's life. She teaches her child how to eat, walk, and talk and everything.  The child feels calmed when she holds the baby close, and baby feels secure when child sleeps next to her.
