RCI-SEVAI celebrated Republic day 2020 in Children Open Shelter, Trichy

SEVAI Open shelter as supported by Railway Children for rescued Children in Trichy, celebrated Republic Day on January 26th,2020. The Republic Day Celebration of RCI-SEVAI Open Shelter was organized by Open Shelter in park space of Trichy DWC premises. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy, Member, Trichy Child Welfare Committee was invited as the guest of Honour for this occasion. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy unfurled the National flag and delivered the key note address. In his key note address, the Guest of honour mentioned, “Republic Day honors the day when the constitution of India came into effect. India became a self-governing country on August 15 1947. Although India attained independence in 1947, it was on January 26 1950, when the country adopted its Constitution which promises freedom and equality for all and thus we celebrate Republic Day on January 26 every year. Shri.Rajendra Prasad served as our first President of India for 10 years. The Constitution of India was drafted by the committee headed by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the   independent India’s first law and Justice Minister who is known as the architect of the constitution of India. Indian Government fulfills the needs of children and also making efforts to make the children constructive citizens of the country”. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy appreciated the functions of the Open Shelter run by RCI-SEVAI in Trichy and it takes care children with a focus on the ‘best of interest of the Children’ as also expected by Child Welfare Committee, striving  to enable rescued children  to heal, recover, and develop a hopeful, healthy life with care and protection. The Children of the Open Shelter delivered speech on Thirukural and the contribution of then President of India Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Prizes have been distributed to inmate children and sweets were shared among participants. Mr.Sukumaran, Home Superintendent of Open Shelter welcomed the participants and Project Coordinator Mrs.Revathy proposed vote of thanks. SEVAI Director K.Govindaraju, Childline- 1098 Coordinator, I.Murali kumar and other children service providers participated in this Republic Day celebrations.-Kris
