Green India-SEVAI's Agro Forestry program was introduced to farmers, especially women, in Amoor, Musiri Block, Trichy District on Jan 29, 2026. Green India, Tamilnadu Coordinator Mr. Sathish highlighted agro forestry's benefits, including soil conservation, biodiversity, and improved crop yields with climate change adaptation. Farmers learned to integrate trees into their farming systems, like planting fruit trees with water and fencing facilities. Popular fruit tree species like mango, guava, and timber trees were recommended. The program aimed to enhance income, soil health, and environmental conservation, promoting a resilient farming future. Mrs. Sarala, SEVAI field functionary, arranged the event, and two surveyors are identified to implement the project in Musiri Block, Trichy District , this project is currently implemented in certain blocks of Trichy and Karur Districts.🌹.
