Agro Forestry by Green India -SEVAI raises 1,63,593 Saplings in Trichy -Karur Districts

SEVAI-Green India's Agroforestry project has achieved remarkable success, completing plantations in 228 hectares of land belonging to 336 farmers in Trichy-Karur districts. A total of 163,593 fruit and timber saplings, including mango, guava, coconut, lemon, teak, and Mahogany, were planted with a 95%+ survival rate, thanks to protected land with water and fencing. This initiative not only supports local farmers but also promotes environmental sustainability, enhancing carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, soil health, and climate resilience. The project's success has encouraged farmers to enthusiastically participate, and plans are underway to extend the initiative to Musiri and Manikandan, Manachanallur Block of Trichy District, with planting scheduled for June 2026 🌳.
