PRA exercise conducted in Perur by SEVAI-OFI for the assessment of the Waterbodies and Women SHGs impact

The SEVAI-OFI waterbodies project in Perur Village, Thigamalai block, is thriving . Led by PRA expert Mrs. Vanitha Palanisamy and Mr.K.Devendran, the project engaged local communities, including women SHG members, to assess its impact. By rejuvenating waterbodies, the project recharged groundwater, boosted crop diversification, and improved yields, benefiting farmers. Women farmers are now empowered, leading initiatives like kitchen gardens, poultry, and dairy farming, enhancing household nutrition and income. The project applied PRA techniques like Social Mapping, Transect Walks, Seasonal Calendars, and Matrix Ranking, empowering locals and driving success, resulting in improved local understanding, community ownership, increased crop yields, and empowered women driving agricultural growth.🌿Govin
