Reviving Vaiyapuripatty Water body tank by SEVAI-OFI project is underway

🌿 Reviving Vaiyapuripatty's Water Lifeline
In the heart of Vaiyampatty Block, Manapari Taluk, SEVAI, with the support of OFI, has taken up the mission of breathing new life into Vaiyapuripatty's rural water body tank, spread across seven acres. More than just a tank, it is a lifeline for farmers, livestock, and ecosystems—holding the promise of water security, agricultural productivity, and climate resilience.
Deepening and renovating the tank means _more water when it's needed most_. It boosts storage capacity, recharges groundwater, tames floods, and creates space for fisheries and livestock to thrive. In short, it's a game-changer for both people and nature.
The journey begins with a _detailed site survey and community consultation_, ensuring local voices shape the project. Then comes the hard work—_desilting and excavation_ to restore depth, followed by _strengthening bunds_ and reshaping inlets and outlets for smooth water flow. To make it last, _lining is added where needed_, and the tank is compacted and protected with vegetation. Regular monitoring ensures it stays strong for generations to come.
Through this initiative, SEVAI and OFI aren't just fixing a tank—they're _revitalizing a community's future_, empowering farmers, nurturing ecosystems, and building resilience against climate challenges, 🌿Govin
