"Cultivating Success: SEVAI's Oyster Mushroom venture with paddy straw"in Amoor

SEVAI, in collaboration with Avai Mushroom, has initiated professional Oyster mushroom production in Amoor using paddy straw as the primary substrate. Their systematic approach covers the entire process from seed preparation to marketing value-added products. The cultivation process begins with paddy straw preparation and sterilization, followed by inoculation with Oyster mushroom spawn. The inoculated substrate is incubated in a controlled environment (20-30°C, 80-90% humidity) for 15-20 days, and then moved to a fruiting room with optimized conditions (15-25°C, 80-90% humidity, 12-hour light cycle) to induce mushroom growth. Mushrooms are harvested at the desired size and stored or packaged for sale. Key factors for success include temperature and humidity control, proper sterilization and hygiene, adequate air exchange and light, and regular monitoring. SEVAI aims to scale up production by increasing substrate quantity, optimizing environmental conditions, and training staff. They also plan to explore value-added products like dried mushrooms, mushroom powders, and mushroom soups 🌿 Govin
