Hindu priests conducted the rituals, led by son Sathish Kumar, in the presence of family and friends. Agro Forestry by Green India -SEVAI raises 1,63,593 Saplings in Trichy -Karur Districts

SEVAI-Green India's Agroforestry project has achieved remarkable success, completing plantations in 228 hectares of land belonging to 336 farmers in Trichy-Karur districts. A total of 163,593 fruit and timber saplings, including mango, guava, coconut, lemon, teak, and Mahogany, were planted with a 95%+ survival rate, thanks to protected land with water and fencing. This initiative not only supports local farmers but also promotes environmental sustainability, enhancing carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, soil health, and climate resilience. The project's success has encouraged farmers to enthusiastically participate, and plans are underway to extend the initiative to Musiri and Manikandan, Manachanallur Block of Trichy District, with planting scheduled for June 2026 🌳.

My beloved wife, Padmini Govindaraju, was an extraordinary individual who left an indelible mark on all who knew her. As a devoted educator, she inspired countless students as a Post Graduate teacher and Principal of a Government Higher Secondary school in Trichy. Her unwavering faith and spirituality led to the establishment of the revered Sri Venkateswara Temple in SEVAI Shanthi School premises, showcasing her deep devotion to Lord Venkateswara, Ganesha, Murugan, Lakshmi Devi, and Saraswati Devi. A true champion of harmony, Padmini promoted interfaith understanding and unity, fostering a spirit of love and respect among people of all faiths.
Throughout our 49-year journey together, Padmini's love, care, and commitment were the pillars of our happy marriage. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. On this poignant occasion of our 50th wedding anniversary, I invite you to join me in prayer, reflection, and acts of kindness in her memory.

Padmashri Awardee Marachi Subburaman appreciated Yoga Vijayakumar for receiving Governor's Award for Social Service 🌟. Vijaya Kumar, a yoga instructor and administrator of Amirtham Social Service Trust, Trichy, received the Governor's Award for outstanding social service. He was honored for performing last rites for unclaimed bodies and serving the needy. Watershed for Food Production and Ecology conservation





SEVAI-promoted women farmers showcased a miniature watershed model demonstrating effective rainwater harvesting techniques 🌟. The model features contour bunds to prevent soil erosion, gully plugs to control erosion, percolation tanks for groundwater recharge, check dams to slow water flow, and catchment input channels to direct rainwater into storage. Spillway tanks manage excess water, while outlet channels release it safely. The project also includes deepening open irrigation wells, groundwater recharge, and tree plantation for environmental conservation. The women farmers visited Dasilnaickanoor Watershed project, implemented and maintained by SEVAI over three decades, showcasing successful watershed management practices.

Women grow Brinjal, tomatoes, and leafy greens for self-consumption and sale. Surplus produce is sold locally or through markets, boosting livelihoods. Income supports household nutrition and financial stability. Training on organic farming and financial management adds to their success.
