On 25 April 2026, the South Zone Board of Continuing Education – OZONE – turned Kalaiaarangam Conference Hall, Tiruchirappalli, into a tribute to word and work, honouring Thiru. V. Jawahar Arumugam with the _Excellence Golden Jubilee Award, ‘Arivu Sudar Mamani’_ for his fearless journalism, evocative books, and grassroots change through his NGO. Neuro specialist Dr. M.A. Aleem and District Judge (Retd.) Shri. Kukan @ K. Karunanithi presented the trophy, _ponnadai_, and cash prize to resounding applause, with OZONE Chairman Dr. K. Govindaraju, Padmashree Marachi Subburaman, and Tiruchirappalli Writers Association President Shri Indra Jith on stage. Lauded by veteran social workers as “a beacon of _Arivu_ and _Sudar_ — knowledge and light,” Jawahar received the honour with folded hands: “I am but a reed pen. I live as a common man, yet stand firm in truth and justice — a quality I see in every person here.
