“Prof.M.A.Windey, a visionary  promoted several community development workers in India” appreciated by Krishna Govindaraju the founder of SEVAI and the former associate of Prof.M.A.Windey in a recent social workers meeting in Trichy. Krishna Govindaraju further said that SEVAI is an off shoot of Prof.M.A.Windey’s VRO-India. Krishna Govindaraju added “SEVAI considers Community development  is a way of strengthening civil society by prioritizing the actions of communities, and their perspectives in the development of social, economic and environmental policy and seeks the empowerment of local communities and community Development strengthens the capacity of people as active citizens through their community groups, playing a crucial role in supporting active democratic life by promoting the autonomous voice of disadvantaged and vulnerable communities. SEVAI Strongly believes that Community Development has a set of core values and social principles covering human rights, social inclusion, equality and respect for diversity;
pre and a specific skills and knowledge base.  "Good community development is an action that helps people to recognize and develop their ability and potential and organise themselves to respond to problems and needs which they share and supports the establishment of strong communities that control and use assets to promote social justice and help improve the quality of community SEVAI follows Community Development as  a peoples movement, floating development school, inter-agency cooperation and scientific approach in implementing the development project as keeping the community is the agency for development and SEVAI as facilitator, Development is not providing but promoting the needy and poor.  SEVAI developed in Educational sector, the equivalency Education, quality of life improvement, Livelihood promotion programs and community interest programs with the active involvement and participation of the community with continuous and spiral effect with innovative ideas, incorporating our cultural heritage. SEVAI promotes Education  Sector to  universalisation of education, greater equity and justice in society, and the evolution of a learning society giving more focus on Vocational Education Courses and Programmes and Life Enrichment Programmes by acknowledging the fact that the young entrepreneurs will be the wealth of the nation, the learner friendly Vocational Education programmes providing better prospects for the learners by offering area based  Vocational Education programmes in different areas such as Agriculture, Business and Commerce,  Rural  Technology,  Computer  related courses and General Services. Knowledge, skills and qualities of entrepreneurship have been made essential components in curricula for Vocational Education with emphasis on practical and on the job training in related industrial units.
