Samapanthi Bojanam arranged by Tamilnadu Adi-Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Department generates a feeling of social equality to a great extent. Conducting Samapanthi Bojanam (A mass meal programme) to eradicate untouchability had been arranged in Arumbukalnar community centre of Sirugamani Town Panchayat with the financial support of Trichirapalli District Adi-Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Department. District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer, Special Tahsildar,PRO of the Department and the Sona Selvam of Sirugamani Town Panchyat Chairman and counselors and public representatives and public participated in the Samapanthi Bojanam arranged on 26th February 2015. SEVAI a local NGO conducted the Samapanthi Bojanam program with the financial support of Trichirapalli District Adi-Dravidar & Tribal

Welfare Department. Around 1000 people of the locality participated in this Samapanthi Bojanam. The District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer spoke on the occasion, “
Untouchability is a curse on our society. Untouchability should not be practiced in our society as it is illegal and some places it has been alleged that it compels people to put barriers between man and man and never allows them to think in terms of oneness amongst people as it keeps the so-called upper classes away from the weaker section of the society and if it happens and our people are to remove of this curse from the society. Conducting Samapanthi Bojanam is one of the schemes of Adi-Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Department and the Department appreciates the efforts of the local NGO for its efforts to bring the people of various castes to-
