SEVAI promotes Guava plantation

SEVAI centre promotes the Guava fruit garden,
a great way to enjoy fresh, juicy guavas right from the field.
Mrs.Sarala, a trained Fruit tree plantation expert says"Guava trees are relatively easy to grow and can thrive in tropical and subtropical regions. They're packed with vitamins A and C, and are a good source of fiber and antioxidants
To start a guava fruit garden, you'll need to choose a location with full sun and well-drained soil. Guava trees prefer a slightly acidic to neutral soil pH (5-7) and temperatures between 15°C to 35°C.
Here are some key tips for growing guava trees:
Planting*: Plant guava trees in the monsoon season (June-September) for best results.
Watering*: Water young trees every 2-3 days, and reduce watering to once a week for mature trees.
Fertilization,Use a balanced fertilizer (6-6-6 or 8-8-8) 3-4 times a year.
Pruning,Prune guava trees in late winter or early spring to promote healthy growth and fruit production.
Some popular guava varieties for cultivation include:
Allahabad Safeda, Known for its white flesh and sweet flavor.
Punjab Pink, A medium-sized fruit with attractive skin color and red flesh.
Arka Amulya*: A dwarf variety with compact, round crown and white flesh" This fruit tree plantation is a significant cultivation in Aiyakudi Village situated near Samayapuram.🌿
