“Trust yourself, you can write Examination much better than you think you do” said the Eminent Educationist Dr.R.Rajan, former Director of State Resource,Centre,Chennai  in his  motivational address for students facing Public Examination  for the secondary and Higher Secondary students of SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary School,Pettavaithalai on 30^th, Jan-2020 at School Auditorium . Dr.R.Rajan  advised the students “ First of all, do the reading,  take careful notes, participate in discussion sections and organize small study groups with classmates for mutual knowledge connectivity  and especially focus on Planning, preparation, focused study,  and writing practice on a very important aspect of preparing for examinations. First of all examinations are the most wonderful things in any human's life. They are litmus test of our abilities, strength, and self-management.  The first and foremost thing about exams is never be scared of them. Each examination is succeeded by preparatory time, which must be utilized optimally. If you do it, you will love to take  exam. Second thing about exams is give your hundred percent near the exams to studies. Revise as much as you can with proper breaks. First and foremost thing is don’t panic. Whatever time is left, make best use of it. Do study the subjects, topics, and concepts that you like. Do take frequent short breaks; say 20 minutes after a spell of one hour study.  Just be strong and prepare wisely and there are no short cuts for success. At the beginning of the exam, divide the time you have by the number of marks on the test to figure out how much time you should spend for each mark and each question and leave time for review and start by answering the easiest question, progressing to the most

Society for Education, Village Action and Improvement (SEVAI) is a registered charitable society and a secular voluntary organization established in the year registered in the year 1984. SEVAI has established a full fledged training centre in Amoor Village for the capacity building of Community Development Organizers, Self Help Group (SHG) members, Staff of SEVAI, Farmers groups, organic farm promoters, Panchayat Raj Institutions and other public for different developmental involvement. This centre is also a platform for the NGO-Govt network. The SEVAI Amoor training centre has training Facilities.SEVAI has promoted community based organizations for group dynamics and common action geared to community development. The village Self Help groups are to meet at least once in a month and deliberate on current topics/issues which include livelihood promotion, quality of life

SEVAI-RCI Open shelter created a ‘Calm-down corner’ in counseling space.RCI-SEVAI Open Shelter in Trichy for rescued boys has a counseling room as child friendly space. A calm-down corner has been created as space for angry and upset children to go to engage their minds and release their anger. The Project Coordinator of RCI-SEVAI CCRS project Mrs.Revathy and the Open Shelter counselor Manikandan jointly designed the calm-down corner in this counseling space of the Open Shelter. The calm down corner is a great addition to Open Shelter counseling space. It provides a safe place where inmates practice calming strategies and improve self-regulation with more support and guidance of counselor.  This calm down corner is contented and calming and this corner is more than just comfortable space, when the boys are in this space; counselor of Open Shelter engages the child through calming down, checking in on how young boys are feeling, choose calming strategies, check in again to see how they are feeling, and repeat until they feel they are back to calm. A simple process like this    makes the calm down corner purposeful and also teaches boys self regulation skills.Ms.Revathy, the PCO of CCRS Project opines, “The calm down corner naturally is to practice soothing strategies as a warm-up, a cool down, with transitions with yoga cards   on hand and go through a couple simple sequences and such additional exposure to a calming strategy helps restless boys to regulate their emotions”. This calm down corner exercise by OS Counselor helps the child with stress by listening, spending time together, encouraging to child to eat well, sleep, exercise and think positively. Children have right to health, education, family life, play and recreation, an adequate standard of living and to be protected from abuse and harm. Children's rights cover their developmental and age-appropriate needs that change over time as a child grows up. The children have meticulous rights such as Right to be born, Right to minimum standards of food, shelter and clothing, Right to be protected from all sorts of violence, Right to be protected from neglect, Right to freedom of opinion, Right to education. Children’s rights also includes their right to association with both parents, human identity as well as the basic needs for physical protection, food, universal state-paid education, health care, and criminal laws appropriate for the age and development of the child, equal protection of the child's civil rights, and

Childline 1098-Trichy celebrated Republic Day-2020 in Child Care Institute –CCI, Annai Ashram, situated Near Airport, Trichy in collaboration with Child Welfare Committee, Social Welfare Department and Annai Ashram. A presentation on Child Safety as promoted by Children India Foundation (CIF) was exhibited to the CCI, inmates-(Girls) on Child rights such as Survival Rights, Developmental Rights, Protective Rights, Participatory Rights and Childline -1098 services for child safety. Childline 1098,(SEVAI) Project Coordinator I. Muralikumar enlightened that all children deserve equality, despite their difference and they are entitled to all child rights, no matter what caste, religion, language gender or abilities define them and further said “CHILDLINE reaches out to the children in need of care and protection in the areas of Child Labour, Abuse and Violence, Sexual Abuse, Child Trafficking, Missing, Runaways,Child Health, Addiction,Education related, Child Marriage  and Homeless and The primary focus of CHILDLINE awareness to make the 1098 number known to children, show them how to call and built their confidence in the CHILDLINE service”.

 Child Welfare Committee member Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy enlightened the significance of celebrating Republic day and said India became a sovereign democratic republic after its constitution came into effect on 26 January 1950. Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the first President of India and they key role played by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, in drafting the constitution of India. Child Welfare Committee member elaborated that we need to children a happy and safe environment that would nurture them physically, mentally, and emotionally. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy further added the Child rights go beyond just human rights; Children need more than just human rights due to a set of unique needs stemming from their vulnerabilities. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy briefed about the further rights of children such as the right to an identity in the form of a public record, the right to health, the right to education, freedom from violence, abuse or neglect, the right to a family life, the right to be protected from violence, right to voice their opinions, free of criticism or contempt and the right to be protected from exploitation.

Dr.M.Gnavel, another member of Child welfare committee stated that it is important that the children should be provided with Medical care, nutrition, protection from harmful habits and safe working environments and special care and support for children with special needs, as well as quality health care including drinking water, nutrition, and a safe environment. Oratory program on Republic Day celebration and right of children, MIME shows, singing of child Protection by the adolescent girls of the CCI were organized on this occasion. Around 200  child children actively exhibited their skills in knowledge connectivity of safety and right of children. RCI-SEVAI celebrated Republic day 2020 in Children Open Shelter, Trichy

SEVAI Open shelter as supported by Railway Children for rescued Children in Trichy, celebrated Republic Day on January 26^th,2020. The Republic Day Celebration of RCI-SEVAI Open Shelter was organized by Open Shelter in park space of Trichy DWC premises. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy, Member, Trichy Child Welfare Committee was invited as the guest of Honour for this occasion. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy unfurled the National flag and delivered the key note address. In his key note address, the Guest of honour mentioned, “Republic Day honors the day when the constitution of India came into effect. India became a self-governing country on August 15 1947. Although India attained independence in 1947, it was on January 26 1950, when the country adopted its Constitution which promises freedom and equality for all and thus we celebrate Republic Day on January 26 every year. Shri.Rajendra Prasad served as our first President of India for 10 years. The Constitution of India was drafted by the committee headed by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the   independent India’s first law and Justice Minister who is known as the architect of the constitution of India. Indian Government fulfills the needs of children and also making efforts to make the children constructive citizens of the country”. Shri.N.Krishnamoorthy appreciated the functions of the Open Shelter run by RCI-SEVAI in Trichy and it takes care children with a focus on the ‘best of interest of the Children’ as also expected by Child Welfare Committee, striving  to enable rescued children  to heal, recover, and develop a hopeful, healthy life with care and protection. The Children of the Open Shelter delivered speech on Thirukural and the contribution of then President of India Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Prizes have been distributed to inmate children and sweets were shared among participants. SEVAI-AEM Forestry project contributes to maintain Ecological Balance.SEVAI implements Forestry Project in Thottiyapatty and Dasilnaickanoor villages of Trichirapalli Region of Tamilnadu with the support of AEM. Around 7000 tree saplings have been planted in these two areas focusing agro forestry. Agro forestry implemented by SEVAI is the sustainable land-use system that maintains and increases total yields by combining food crops with tree crops and livestock using management practices that suit the social and cultural characteristics of the local people and the economic and ecological conditions such as carbon reduction and under this agro forestry project there are both ecological and economical interactions between the various components. The village farmers of Thottiyapatty and Dasilnaickanoor are trained by SEVAI team members and make the farmers to believe that ‘Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water and preserving soil. Trees removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and releasing oxygen in its stead also helps limit global warming, providing for a cleaner, healthier climate and the significance of the shade provided by trees is extremely vital for atmosphere as Trees are like the lungs of the planet as

they breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen’. This Agro forestry project combines,  production of multiple outputs with protection of the resource base, places emphasis on the use of multiple indigenous trees and plants, particularly suitable for low-input conditions and fragile environments such villages as Thottyapatty -Dasilnaicknoor area, involves the interplay of socio-cultural values more than in most other land-use systems; and this project is implemented  more structurally and functionally. SEVAI has established a tree Nursery in Sirugamani tree growing technology centre where fragile tree plants are grown and transfer to the respective villages Dasilnacikanoor and Thottiyapatty when the nursery age is 9 months old to usable size for tree planting. SEVAI strongly committed to forestry program as planting a tree is a lifelong investment. As tree planting process, SEVAI team carefully selects of trees saplings, the planting location, and provides care during planting, and the follow-up care after planting and this specialized tree plantation start helps the tree mature to its full size and ensures it will provide agro-economic, environmental and social benefits throughout its lifetime.  Agro forestry implemented by SEVAI is a land use management system in which trees are grown among crops and pastureland. This intentional combination of agriculture and forestry under this project has varied benefits, including increased biodiversity and reduced erosion. The Agro Forestry project implemented by SEVAI provides tree-based farming system to a great extent comes to the rescue of small marginal farmers and help them to design a system of production which is spread throughout the year they offer increased productivity, economic benefits, and ecological as this Agro forestry project contributes having a positive influence on ecosystem and balancing the environment. Depleted soil is well protected from soil erosion under this tree plantation project by ground-cover plants in agro forestry systems. These help to stabilize the soil as they increase cover compared to short-cycle cropping systems. Soil cover is a crucial factor in preventing erosion.  The runoff water is reduced by decreasing its velocity and increasing infiltration into the soil. This Agro Forestry project implemented has Environmental benefits such as More efficient recycling of nutrients by deep rooted trees,  Better protection of ecological systems, Reduction of surface run-off, nutrient leaching and soil erosion through impeding effect of tree roots and stems on these processes, Improvement of micro-climate, such as lowering of soil surface temperature

K.Govindaraju further said,’ “Child protection process also addresses to the need of safeguarding children from child marriages. Child service functionaries are to make sure that communities protect all children and prevent child maltreatment and they are especially to protect girls from violations such as abuse, sexual exploitation, trafficking and work in hazardous conditions, as well as harmful practices, particularly child marriage. Child marriage is one of the barriers to girls, with a depressing impact on so many aspects of their lives. Nobody has the right to force children to do something children don't want to do. Child marriage disproportionately impacts girls, depriving them of their education, health, and safety. Child marriage is a social evil that affects children physically, mentally and emotionally. Mainly girl children are forced to fall into child marriage as they are discriminated in the society because of their gender. Child marriage in India is a real spoiler of a kid’s childhood. Some parents feel that child marriage is the end of troubles for girls, but it actually cuts their childhood short and the girls deserve much better. Many girls who are married off before they turn 18 or are forced into early marriages are made to leave school, depriving them of their right to education and future independence. Child brides are also more likely to experience domestic violence. Child marriage is driven by poverty and has many effects on girls' health: increased risk for sexually transmitted diseases and other serious health issues. Child marriage robs girls of a chance to learn, grow, and fully realize their potential, child marriage systematically disembowels them.
