ICHEC-2011 with "Poikkal Kuthirai Attam" performers
Thottiyapatty Villagers performed "Poikkal Kuthirai Attam"(Puravai Attam) at SEVAI Arumbuhalnagar on the camp fire occasion of successful completion of ICHEC Housing project 2011 of SEVAI Amoor and Allur fire camp. The cultural Heritage of Tamil Nadu goes way back to ancient times. Music and dance are the essence of Tamil Nadu. The villagers performed Poikkal Kuthirai Attam, a performing folk dance. The performers dressed and pretended as if they are riding a horse and danced to the rhythmic music. The dummy horse was made of jute, cardboard, paper, and glass. The show was performed by men as well as women. The main attraction was the richly decorated cardboard horse. The dancers used this as their dress. This dance was performed by a pair of dancers impersonating a king and queen. The dummy-horse show was one of the chief attractions in this camp fire of ICHEC Camp fire organized by SEVAI.  ICHEC-2011 from Belgium and USA partook in cultural events of Camp fire.Govin
