D.P.Yadav,IG Registration speaks to Dist Collectors and officials

“Registration of lands would become easier and simple only if the correct guideline value was available for the people” Chairing a meeting with Collectors and Registration Department officials from eight districts in Trichy  on Friday said D.P.Yadav, Inspector General of Registration, Government of Tamilnadu. Collectors Jayashree Muralidharan (Tiruchi), K.Baskaran (Thanjavur), S.Munianathan (Tiruvarur), T.Munusamy (Nagapattinam), B.Maheswari (Pudukottai) V.Shobana (Karur), Anu George (Ariyalur), Darez Ahmed (Perambalur), Tiruchi Corporation Commissioner K.Veera Raghava Rao and Registration Department officials from the districts attended the meeting.Dharmendra Pratap Yadav, has instructed officials to complete field inspections and submit their recommendations for the revision of guideline value of land before October 31.He further said that the government has ordered a revision of the guideline value as there were discrepancies of the value of different pieces of lands in a same place. The government has ordered an assessment and fixation of correct value of the land.Officials have to conduct inspections of all classifications of land across the State fully to fix the guideline value. When lands are registered according to their correct value, local bodies would also get more revenue. Hence officials should compulsorily inspect and recommend the correct value of the land. D.P.Yadav, IG Registration further said that the officials concerned should ensure that discrepancies in the existing guideline values of different pieces of land under same classification in a particular place. The guideline value should reflect the current market value of the land.The officers should make appropriate proposals to the district committees to increase or decrease the guideline value if there discrepancies. The revised guideline value, once finalised and notified, should be widely publicised, Mr.Yadav said and appealed to the officers to extend their full cooperation to the exercise.
