| Dr.Sangeetha receives award from CM |
Tamilnadu state's Kalpana Chawla award for courage and daring enterprise was presented to Trichy revenue divisional officer Dr S Sangeetha, , who spearheaded the seizure of about Rs. 5.1 crore in cash found atop a private bus parked at Pon Nagar of Tiruchi during the run-up to the Assembly election in April for courage and daring enterprise this year.
On Monday, 15th August 2011,Chief Minister Jayalalithaa handed over the award, carrying a cash prize of Rs. five lakh, to Dr Sangeetha on the ramparts of Fort St George after delivering her address. Tamil Nadu chief minister presented the award to her on the occasion of Independence Day. Happy that her work has been recognised, the revenue official said she was proud to receive the award from the chief minister. -Govin
