Tree plantation by SEVAI SMHSS Students

SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary school planted a variety of trees in the school premises. Teachers, students and support staff of SEVAI Shanhit Matriculation Higher Secondary school planted a variety of trees in the school premises. Ms.Kala the Botany teacher motivated the school students to plant and grows trees in the School campus. She mentioned, ‘“Today's tree plantation drive is special as it is a part of our sesquicentennial celebrations. Our students led by their teachers and other children enjoyed the experience. Such genuine concern for the environment is amazing. Team of the Eco-Friends must be congratulated." She further added, “Biodiversity, the variety of life on Earth, is essential to sustaining the living networks and systems that provide us all with health, wealth, food, fuel and the vital services our lives depend on. Human activity is causing the diversity of life on Earth to be lost at a greatly accelerated rate. These losses are irreversible, impoverish us all and damage the life support systems we rely on every day. But we can prevent them. To grow fruit-bearing plants is to sustain environmental conservation and development. There is a very well known saying "healthy minds lives within healthy body". We all know fresh air not only gives us healthy lungs with healthy body but also produce healthy mind too. Plant a tree India is very much concerned about school students. We believe that students are just like a budding plant, if not nurtured now then loses its chance to become a full fledge tree. So with keeping this concern in our minds we designed this project for them only. We want young buds to grow in healthy environment and for a healthy environment it's necessary to have healthy surroundings. So in this regard we are always ready to give support and assistance for campus plantation because campuses of the schools or of institutions are the places where students invest most of their effective time. We want to encourage school students to make the most of their grounds by planting trees. This helps create tree planting habitat, increases biodiversity and, most importantly, provides an excellent learning resource. - planting the trees, watching them grow, seeing how wildlife is encouraged, charting the changing seasons and weather Through this way the students will not only raise their involvement in some healthy exercise but it will also make them learn about team work, about their environment, about economy and of course fill them up with sense of responsibility, love and compassion”. - Govin
