The SEVAI Shanthi MHS School Kids Tree Nursery project is providing a service to both the school community and the environment by  helping children in schools to learn about the environment and to plant trees, and to provide information services on schools in order to strengthen the tree growing movement.SEVAI Shanthi MHS School Kids Tree Nursery project educates and support the children, parents involved and to enhance the children’s environmental education, and allow for their personal participation in the restoration of the planet. This tree nursery project has a long term vision In order to reverse desertification, reduce soil erosion, restore sustainability and survives climate change, this environmental initiative SEVAI Shanthi MHS School Kids Tree Nursery project. Thanks to the amazing support of school children, parents and community for such intuitive of tree growing in the area. It is aimed to unite and encourage local communities to participate with their local authorities in environmental decision making, in resolving where to best plant the saplings for the maximum benefit to the local environment, leading to the creation of new green areas in neglected land. SEVAI Shanthi MHS School Kids Tree Nursery project is created within school grounds, with children participating in raising saplings in a nursery environment, giving them both a sense of achievement and tangible environmental educational benefit. The educational aspect of the programme is enhanced through games, which encourage and “educate” the children and their teachers about ecological restoration, the carbon cycle, and the importance of the children’s participation in this work. Once saplings have reached the correct maturity, SEVAI Shanthi MHS School Kids Tree Nursery project arranges their planting-out with the children, in co-ordination with local people, parents and public.  SEVAI Shanthi MHS School Kids Tree Nursery project also tries and help to identify the most appropriate places to plant the trees ideally in barren areas such as Thottiyapatty and Dasilnaickanoor.In addition, SEVAI Shanthi MHS School Kids Tree Nursery project helps and guides if there are any problems with the out-planting. -Govin
