Fire Safety measures was demonstrated in SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary School to create a safety mind-set among the students and Staff members of the  School and emphases on simple, effective fire safety in School premises. The students and other participants learnt about the mechanism of fire formation, fire prevention practices, dealing with different classes of fire and using portable fire extinguishers to fight small fires touching upon the all important aspect of people’s behavior during a fire emergency and the role of school team members during such situations. The Principal of the School Ms.Kala said, “School fire safety is important for the simple reason that a large number of children are gathered at one place and a single fire can affect all of them. The chemistry lab which contains large quantities of flammable liquids is especially at risk. A fire in such places can go out of control and thus, fire safety in schools has become an extremely important issue. An uncontrolled fire can cause not just property damage but also huge loss in life. Fire safety is a crucial issue for everyone. Fire Extinguisher Products help us to prevent from fire. With proper training workers can eliminate fire hazards and respond quickly and efficiently if a fire breaks out. Fire safety in a School environment is very vital and important. Fire safety rules and regulations are designed to save lives and protect school inmates and property. We are responsible for fire safety and the health and safety of all people on the school premises”. The SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary school students were oriented by fire fighters how to control fire in Schools.-Kris
