The Trichy Lions Club recently launched the Environment Day and Tree Plantation project at SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary school, marking a significant step towards environmental conservation . The event began with Ms. S. Kiruthika, IFS, District Forest officer, Trichy lighting the Kuthu Vilakku, symbolizing the commencement of a noble initiative. 

After the function, informaly Speaking to students, Principal Mrs. Chitra Balasubramanian highlighted the cultural significance of Kuthu Vilakku lighting, a revered tradition in Tamil culture. She explained that it represents auspicious beginnings, removes obstacles, and is a symbol of respect and cultural heritage.
