The Poomalai Angadi marketing shop for Self Help Groups (SHG) products was inaugurated in 2000 at the Kalaiarangam Campus in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. This initiative aimed to promote and sell products crafted by SHG members, including handicrafts, herbal products, handloom, and textiles.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries, including Mr. M.K. Stalin, then Mayor of Chennai, Hon'ble Minister K.N. Nehru, Thiru V. Murthy IAS, then Collector of Trichy, and Shri K. Govindarajan, Founder/Director of SEVAI.
This platform has become a vital outlet for women SHG members to showcase and sell their products, contributing to their economic empowerment.
