OFI France Gavoty Award presented to Dr.R.Ramasubbu

Trichy, March 2013: OFI, France- Gavoty Award-2012 was presented to Dr.R.Ramasubbu, Associate Editor of Dinamalar by Mrs. Elizabeth Walton, the President of Objectif France Inde (OFI), an international organization working for poor and down trodden since 1998 having its base in Toulon, France. This award was presented to Dr.R.Ramasubbu for his outstanding performance in the area of Knowledge Connectivity and Community Outreach programme.Mrs.Benjamine Oberoi, the Vice President of Objectif France Inde (OFI), in her award introductory speech briefed that Objectif France Inde (OFI) has instituted OFI, France- Gavoty Award and it has been conferred on the outstanding personalities those reach poorest of the poor. This award is given in recognition of outstanding contribution to the community through civic, benevolent, by personalities from a variety of walks of life. The recipient must have outstanding voluntary service in cultural, educational, humanitarian, patriotic, historical, citizenship, environmental conservation, organized community endeavors those serve the neediest communities especially with a focus in the areas of knowledge connectivity, quality of life improvement of needy, Livelihood promotion, Technology transfer and especially the comprehensive development of women and children.Mrs. Elizabeth Walton, President of Objectif France Inde in her key note address mentioned that “Objectif France -Inde (OFI), is an international organization working for poor and down trodden since 1998 having its base in Toulon in France. This OFI- Gavoty- France-Award has established a set of guidelines and administers the approval process for seeking nominations for worthy recipients for receiving Gavoty- France-Award, she said that the President of South Zone Board of Continuing Education, Dr.K.Govindaraju forwarded the nomination of Dr.R.Ramasubbu, Associate Editor of Dinamalar,after the initial scrutiny of the nomination by  award subcommittee, then after careful scrutiny by OFI France, the OFI has conferred OFI, France- Gavoty Award on Dr.R.Rama Subbu, M.A.Ph.D, Associate Editor, Dinamalar for Knowledge Connectivity and Community Outreach programme. Mrs. Elizabeth Walton appreciated the yeoman services of Dr.Ramasubbu through Dinamalar as a bridge of Rich and Poor. She added that the Dinamalar plays vital role in improving the quality of life of poor and down trodden especially women, children, farmers and the neediest population of Tamilnadu. Ms.Nicole Benayoun, Treasurer; OFI-France presented a book to Dr.R.Ramasubbu.
In her presidential address, the Vice Chancellor of Bharathidassan University Dr. (Mrs).K.Meena mentioned appreciated the gesture of OFI France for giving OFI Gavoty Award to Dr.R.Rama Subbu, Associate Editor of Dinamalar who has been rendering yeoman services to children, women, farmers, students, senior citizens through knowledge connectivity and she added that it was Dr.Rama subbu who toiled for connecting he world through internet to Trichy, a decade back. (Mrs).K.Meena expressed her happiness that every sector of Trichirappalli from corporate to farming communities was present on this special occasion. The Vice Chancellor elaborated the various extraordinary achievements of Dr.R.Ramasubbu and Dinamalar team.
Dr.R.Ramasubbu thanked OFI for awarding him OFI France Gavoty Award in his acceptance of award speech. He expressed that that it was a pleasant surprise when he received the message that he was selected for this prestigious OFI France Gavoty Award. Dr.R.Ramasubbu remembered his Grandfather, who was a freedom fighter and journalist for imbibing him his excellent character and qualities not only as a journalist but also a good citizen of this country. Dr.R.Ramasubbu expressed his happiness that this award has been given for his knowledge connectivity and also community outreach program for farmers, women self help groups and the needy population and this award would encourage him to work more intensively for the community development. He is proud that he is one among  those have outstanding service qualities such as cultural, educational, humanitarian, patriotic, citizenship, environmental conservation, organized community endeavors especially with a focus in the areas of knowledge connectivity, quality of life improvement of needy, Livelihood promotion, Technology transfer and especially the comprehensive development of women and children. Dr.R.Ramasubbu appreciated dinamalar team, his family members, friends their efforts for certain achievements.
