Watershed model visited by SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary school students

Students from SEVAI Shanthi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pettavaithalai, visited the Natural Resources Management Centre, K.N.Palayam and explored a miniature watershed model. The functionaries explained how watersheds work, highlighting the impact of water movement on the environment, economy, and people.
The students learned about:
- Watershed functioning: like a big bowl collecting and distributing water
- Impacts: flood control, water supply, biodiversity hotspot, agriculture, and erosion control ,
- Human activities impacting watersheds: pollution, urbanization, and climate change .
After the watershed visit, the students explored the Miyawaki Forest at SEVAI Natural Resources Management Centre, K.N.Palayam. They gained hands-on knowledge about watershed management and ecosystem conservation  🌿🌹Govin
